About Me

Hi! I’m Julia Henn, a recent graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in Media Production and a minor in Digital Marketing Strategy and Analytics. I’m currently on staff at Mercy Road Church in Carmel as a Broadcast Producer, where I get to help bring weekly services and creative content to life through production and storytelling.

I’m passionate about all things media-related, especially when it comes to turning creative ideas into meaningful content and experiences. My time at Ball State helped me grow both creatively and professionally, and gave me the chance to explore different areas of media and content creation while building my skills along the way.

I’m really excited to continue growing in this field and keep bringing ideas to life through media in creative and impactful ways.

Awards & Recognitions

While I was a student at Ball State University, I maintained strong academic performance and a high GPA. I was honored on the Dean’s List for multiple consecutive semesters and was recognized at the Media Dean’s List Ceremony in both Fall 2024 and Fall 2025. In Fall 2025, I achieved a 4.0 GPA. I took great pride in my academics and am grateful that my dedication and hard work were recognized throughout my time at Ball State.

Let’s take a look at my work!

During my time at Ball State, I’ve had the opportunity to create a variety of unique projects. Here, I’m excited to showcase one of the 3D designs I’ve brought to life using Blender. Take a moment to explore the work I’ve created!

I had the opportunity to take a motion graphics class at Ball State, which pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to explore the world of animation. Here is one of the animation videos I created. I really enjoyed the process and am excited to have discovered a new skill in Adobe After Effects!

I love having a skill like this because Adobe After Effects lets me get creative in so many ways. Need a cool video intro? I’ve got you — I can put something together! Want a fun animation like this one? I’ve got you covered there too!

Creative & Fun Work!

Here is a collection of my work from college, high school, and past ambassadorships. Enjoy exploring it!

This is a 6-Shot Story I created in the Fall of 2023 during my sophomore year of college. The project was a lot of fun because we had to tell a complete story using only six shots, which gave me plenty of room to be creative and think outside the box.

Towards the end of my junior year of high school, I created a short video asking students and staff where they saw themselves in five years, giving me experience in interviewing, filming, and storytelling.

During my senior year of high school, a few friends and I created a series called “Try My Talent,” which was featured on our school’s live announcements. It was a fun and creative way to showcase student talents and gain hands-on experience with production and broadcasting.

During my senior year of high school, I created a fun Fall Trivia video that was featured on our school’s live announcements, giving me hands-on experience in video production and editing.

When I was a freshman in high school, I served as an ambassador for the TurnBoard as part of Team TurnBoard. In this role, I created engaging videos that marketed the product, which were shared on the company’s social media platforms. One of my videos even earned me a $250 scholarship. This experience was incredibly rewarding and played a big role in inspiring me to pursue a degree in Media Production.

One of my videos for TurnBoard, titled “Ballet is Fun,” featured their StretchPRO product. This video was posted on TurnBoard’s official YouTube channel and received 11,000 views. TurnBoard offers a variety of products, and this project gave me valuable experience creating content that reaches a wide audience.

During my first semester of college, my group and I created a micro short film. It was a silly project that we all had a lot of fun with, and it gave me early hands-on experience collaborating on a film project.

Faith-Focused Media

Throwback to when I was learning the cameras at church! So grateful for all the hands-on experience and the opportunity to grow in live production while serving my church community.

I am truly grateful for all the opportunities Mercy Road Church gives me to grow in my production skills and gain hands-on experience in live media.

The Lord has clearly called me to serve in the church, and that is exactly what I’ve been doing. Since 2019, I have been a member of the Broadcast Team at Mercy Road Church, where I brought an open mind, a positive attitude, and the flexibility to step into different roles as needed. I gained experience operating cameras, directing livestreams, calling shots, and managing the switcher. I enjoyed both the technical and creative aspects of the role and looked forward to growing in additional areas.

I joined the team at just 15, and even then, I knew this was something I wanted to pursue as a career. Serving on this team allowed me to gain hands-on experience, contribute to my church community, and grow in my passion for media while serving the Lord—something I truly loved.

Now, it’s amazing to look back and see where God has led me. I am currently on staff at Mercy Road Church, continuing to work with the Broadcast Team in a professional role, which feels like a full-circle moment from where I started.

Here’s a photo of me in May 2025 directing the Mercy Road Church online livestream. I directed all three services that day: 9:00 AM, 10:15 AM, and 11:30 AM.

Greek InterVarsity Ambassador

During my time at Ball State University, I served as a Greek InterVarsity (Greek IV) Ambassador. In this role, I promoted the ministry on campus while also supporting the larger organization. My responsibilities included creating promotional content for Greek IV’s national Instagram, attending monthly ambassador calls, and capturing media at events such as Greek Getaway and Greek Conference. This experience allowed me to combine my passion for media with serving a faith-based community.

Here is some of the promotional content I’ve created that has been featured on the Greek IV national Instagram page, along with a recent testimony graphic that I designed independently for the platform.
